Governor Migs Dominguez received numerous tributes, “thank you” and “we love you” from students, parents, and teachers as he ends his term in Sarangani. The core of his governance agenda was “Providing each Child in Sarangani with Quality Education.”

He ended his term with significant increases in achievement scores of students in English, Math and Science: from 30 percent to 75 percent. He worked with communities in providing students with instructional materials, in building capacities of teachers and parents, in building school infrastructure, and in harnessing volunteers to help non-readers. He demonstrated a leadership that is participatory, transparent, and empowering. Gov. Dominguez was recognized by Galing Pook for excellence in governance for his programs in education, justice, and peace. He is the first recipient of the Jesse Rob redo Leadership Award.
