Synergeia Foundation welcomes its new chief operating officer, John P. Sevilla, who brings into the organization his expertise in finance and investments in both local and overseas markets and know-how in running complex organizations.
Sevilla served as Undersecretary for Privatization of the Department of Finance from September 2006 to October 2007, increasing privatization revenues to P43 billion within 10 months from a P3.6-billion annual average from 2001 to 2006.
In the field of investments, Sevilla distinguished himself as executive director of a group in Goldman Sachs (Asia) LLC that identified, analyzed and executed debt and equity investments for an Asia ex-Japan proprietary trading group with a 20%-30% annualized return target.
He also held the post of vice-president at Salomon Smith Barney Hong Kong Ltd., assistant director at Peregrine Fixed Income Ltd., and associate director for sovereign ratings at Standard & Poor’s in New York.
Sevilla graduated cum laude from Cornell University with a major in Government and Economics, and earned his Master of Public Affairs degree from Princeton University.
