“You are no longer teachers but managers!” Luigi Bernas, a Synergeia Fellow challenged the school principals from San Fernando City. The principals have been attending a four-week workshop on leadership, management, communications skills, and personality development.
Their resource persons include Ms. Mel Oracion, former Principal of the Ateneo de Manila High School; Dr. Antonio Torralba, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, UAP; Prof. Mila Arias of the Philippine Normal University, and Mr. Oscar Atendido, a TV director and lecturer on arts and culture. The workshops are one of a series of capability-building programs for teachers, school officials and parents. The program is undertaken under the leadership of former Mayor Mary Jane Ortega, San Fernando City in partnership with the local governments, the congressman of the district, and DEPED.
