TeaM Energy, DepEd, Synergeia sign education agreement

Last June 16, 2008, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed by top management representatives from TeaM Energy, the Department of Education, and Synergeia Foundation.

This began a new relationship to implement the Tanglaw Aral program in two sites namely Sual, Pangasinan and Pagbilao, Quezon. The mentioned sites are locations of TeaM Energy’s power plants. Synergeia is the implementing agency in this initiative.

Because TeaM Energy considers the children of Sual and Pagbilao a valuable resource, it has a strong interest in uplifting the quality of education.

The Tanglaw Aral program aims to increase the reading proficiency levels of Grade 1 students in the municipalities and empower communities towards education reforms by means of capability building opportunities for teachers and parents.

The children will be enrolled in the program for three-years. Aside from education, Tanglaw Aral will also cover a health component addressing children’s malnutrition.
