The DILG Secretary, the Hon. Jesse M. Robredo will open the 8th National Conference of Synergeia.  He will talk about “Local Governments, Education, and Synergeia.” The conference is scheduled on February 18-19, 2011 at the Auditorium of the Ateneo Professional Schools, Rockwell Center, Makati City.

The conference will be a venue for sharing best practices and lessons in mobilizing communities to rally around the cause of improving basic education.  Vice Mayor Ramon Piang will share their award winning program that built Upi into a learning community.  Superintendents will present how they train principals into CEOs while principals will discuss capability building programs for teachers.  There will be workshops on building partnerships with the business community and parents, as well as working with out-of school youth.  Undersecretary Austere Panadero will encourage LGUs to participate in the Performance Incentive Fund and Prof. Ernie Garilao will familiarize LGUs with the processes to be part of the health program of Zuellig Foundation.
