Synergeia is welcoming the New Year by renewing and strengthening its partnerships in Maguindanao. A workshop and a fellowship among mayors of at least 12 municipalities of the province will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Retreat House in Cotabato City.
Leading the list of participants are the local chief executives of Barira, Buldon, Datu Paglas, Paglat and Upi, who will assess the impact of education governance initiatives under the USAID-funded EQuALLS program that officially closed in October 2011. Sustaining program gains will be part of the workshop agenda.
During the workshop, the LCEs and other key leaders in education are expected to formulate programs that will be pursued in 2012 to minimize dropouts and improve learning performance. The local government units will also be introduced to the Kazarian-SyCip fund as a source of financing for LGU programs.
