Mayor Felipe Yap will chair the first Education Summit in Ivisan Capiz on January 24, 2012.  The residents will discuss how to reduce dropout rate and enable their children to answer 8 out of 10 questions in achievement examinations.  On top of their priorities is strengthening parents’ involvement in the education of their children.  Some of the initial programs that they plan to undertake are home visitation by teachers and village leaders, and strict enforcement of the ordinance on students’ access to computer shops.
