Villanueva teachers sharpen their skills
March 30, 2009

Grade Two teachers of Villanueva, Misamis Oriental are all set to practice their improved strategies and skills in teaching Reading when the new schoolyear opens in June. The teachers gained more confidence after their March 27-28 training on story reading, developing decoding skills, comprehension and higher order thinking skills, applying the Four-Pronged approach, and drills on simple grammar and correct pronunciation. The participants greatly appreciated and enjoyed their two fun-filled days of learning with trainers from Xavier University. Ms. Flerida Nery, Ms. Edralin Awayan and Ms. Jovelyn Delosa not only honed their proficiency, but also reminded them of the nobility of the teaching profession and inspired them to be the best teachers they can possibly be for their students. The training also proved to be a rewarding experience for the principals, the Villanueva PMT, the representatives from STEAG State Power, Inc. and the Synergeia staff who were present. The energy and enthusiasm generated during the two-day event spurred the team forward in their mission to provide the children of Villanueva with quality basic education.
